Elsa the dog and the wiremesh/ Elsa, el perro y la malla de alambre



Scientists doing research about intelligence conducted the following experimentation:



I haven't got a wire mesh so you'll get a wooden barrier instead
 They put a dog behind a wire mesh barrier and a juicy attractive piece of meat on the other side. This barrier was straight and not very long. The scientists noticed that it did not take long for the dog to get around the barrier and take hold of the meat.
 Elsa, five years old, daughter of the leader of the scientific team, thinks that her father should play with her rather than with a dog.

 Then, the scientists renew the protocol with a chicken and juicy attractive grain of corn. They notice with great interest that the chicken, instead of running around the mesh barrier, collides with it again and again in a vain attempt to reach the object of its desire. The poor bird nearly strangles itself by pushing its head through a hole in the mesh but it’s not going to eat. The scientific team conclude that the dog is more intelligent that the chicken.
 Elsa is not far from hitting her head against a wall. That her father prefers a dog to her was difficult to accept but somehow understandable. Dogs are cheerful and friendly creatures. But being set aside for a chicken is absolutely humiliating.

 The scientists now proceed once more with the same experiment, with a starving dog and meat. There is always a cruel moment in scientific experiments involving dogs. They notice, with excitement, that the starving dog has become so to speak, as stupid as a chicken. It collides with the mesh again and again, obviously unable to move away from the object of its longing.

 Elsa is in love with her father. She firmly believes that they will get married as soon as...  next week. They will sleep together (which in her mind, means sleep) and they will have plenty of children. But he will have to stop these crazy games with animals.
 How can one stop starving in order to be able to eat? Elsa set the dog free. It catches the chicken and runs away. Elsa is sent to bed without eating. Her father is a great scientist. He understands nothing.

Los científicos, investigando acerca de la inteligencia, realizaron el siguiente experimento:

Pusieron a un perro detrás de una malla de alambre y una pieza de carne jugosa y atractiva del otro lado. La barrera era recta y no muy larga. Los científicos notaron que el perro no tardó mucho rodear la barrera y tomar la carne.

Elsa, de cinco años, hija del líder del equipo científico, cree que su padre debería jugar con ella en vez de jugar con el perro.

Después, los científicos renovaron el protocolo con un pollo y granos de maíz jugosos y atractivos. Observan con gran interés que el pollo, en lugar de correr alrededor de la barrera de malla, choca contra ella una y otra vez en un intento vano de alcanzar el objeto de su deseo. El pobre pájaro casi se estrangula empujando su cabeza a través de un agujero en la malla, pero no va a comer. El equipo científico concluye que el perro es más inteligente que el pollo.

Elsa no está lejos de golpearse la cabeza contra la pared. Que su padre prefiriera a un perro era difícil de aceptar, pero de alguna manera era comprensible. Los perros son criaturas alegres y amigables. Pero ser puesta de lado por un pollo es absolutamente humillante.

Los científicos proceden una vez más con el mismo experimento, con un perro famélico y carne. Siempre hay un momento cruel en los experimentos científicos que incluyen perros. Notan, con emoción, que el perro hambriento se ha vuelto, por así decirlo, tan estúpido como un pollo. Choca con la malla una y otra vez, obviamente incapaz de alejarse del objeto de su anhelo.

Elsa está enamorada de su padre. Cree firmemente que se casarán tan pronto como... la próxima semana. Dormirán juntos (que en su mente sí significa dormir) y tendrán muchos hijos. Pero estos juegos locos con animales tendrán que detenerse.

¿Cómo se puede dejar de morir de hambre para poder comer? Elsa liberó al perro. El perro atrapa al pollo y se escapa. Elsa es enviada a la cama sin comer. Su padre es un gran científico. Su padre no entiende nada.
